Ep 7 Yes, You CAN Be Successful With Family Photography | Guest Aislinn Chalker of Wilde Sparrow Photography
Aislinn Chalker is a mother and the owner of Wild Sparrow Photography on the big island of Hawaii. She has been shooting family photos full-time for 6 years. Today, she talks with us about the dynamic of teaming up with your spouse to make things work, and how one of the best things you can do for your mental health and run a sustainable business is to say no to the projects your gut tells you to say no to. We touch on how real scarcity mindset is and how to manage it, the benefits of having a business besty (this one’s good!), and when and why you should outsource. Aislinn leaves us with some of her amazing advice for new (and experienced) photographers that you won’t want to miss!
Aislinn began her college studies in criminology of all things, but after taking a one-off graphic design course, she quickly found that her love for CSI wasn’t enough to keep her pursuing her intended degree. She then changed her focus to study fine arts and graphic design where her journey with photography started. Later, with her husband's encouragement, she finally let go of her steady job to fulfill her dream of being a full-time family photographer.
